Debbie Minter
Debbie Minter, known to many as “Dharlee” worked for 34 years as owner and operator of Cut Above Hair Salon in Roanoke Virginia. She has also enjoyed working as an interim Minister of Music, Restaurant Manager and Stained Glass Artist.
During an internet search one day she found a site that showed many beautiful pendants that had been sculpted from wire by Preston Reuther and in that moment she was hooked. She found was would become her passion and allow her to retire from hairdressing.
She now studies silver smithing in an effort to learn new ways to create jewelry, but her specialty is in name writing. She plans to begin teaching this summer and will continue to study both under Preston Reuther's teachings through the Wire Jewelry Bootcamp, and in her silver smithing.
Even though is she has an arthritic disability which prevents her from doing some of the things life has to offer, her positive attitude and outlook on life shines through in the accomplishments she strives to make each day. "Never give up!" is her motto. She is willing to freely offer anything she can to her fellow bootcampers, trying her best to help them accomplish their goals and ideals.
Dharlee shares her home with her rescue dog, Scruffy.
